Hunstanton is a coastal town facing the Wash and is unusual because it is the only town on the east coast that you can see the sunset over the sea. It is also renowned for its long, sandy beaches backed by striped cliffs. It has an extensive green sloping down to the site of the old pier and sea front, attractive gardens and fine Victorian houses.
There are two supermarkets, and a range of shops. For the leisure enthusiasts there’s surfing, sailing, water-skiing and the Hunstanton Tennis Tournament, which is the second largest tennis tournament in England after Wimbledon; there’s always a game of cricket on the Glebe fields every weekend in the Summer; for the golfers there are the courses of Searles, Hunstanton Golf Club and close by the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club at Brancaster.
